Most Successful Club in Europe Struggle to Qualify

What a shambolic state of affairs things have come to when qualifying from UCL group stage is a success to be celebrated by a club that has won 13 UCL titles, and never in its entire history, has exited the competition that early.

The low-hanging-fruit will be an accomplishment in which some of the fans will bask. Won't be surprised if it is served as testiment or justification for some to back the manager for the whole season as well.

Bonkers. Talk about lowering the standards. Yes, there are problems at each level and in each segment. However, the elephant in the room that everyone ignored is the complete absence of a structured football on the pitch, the basic principles really.

Perhaps, a couple of games can be won by sheer heart but it is bound to fall apart again if things don’t improve in the basics of gameplay. It is as simple as that. I’ll repeat what I’ve said for years now. The same structural problems haunt us and the cracks just widen with each day passing. Ever since 2018 it’s the same damned issue that Real Madrid have continued to ignore. It’s better to take down the old house and build a new one instead of covering the wall cracks by hanging framed images over them.
